About the gallery
The Edge Element is an online gallery with wallpaper/desktop backgrounds, website themes and other random extras. The gallery features a free section as well as a subscription option which gives members access to a wider range of content. The project release schedule is as follows:

Alpha release: June 2010

The current version is Beta, displaying almost complete functionality:

user subscription (this is free in the Beta release, but will require payment in the final version)

Subscription
All users of the site are invited to subscribe at no cost. You will be given full access to the site, as well as a period of continued free subscription after the final release. All I ask in return is that you provide feedback on the site content offer constructive criticism and contact me with any identified issues.
Formal testing
Users of the site are also invited to participate as formal testers by:

downloading and completing a testing form, then emailing it to me (emma AT siasan.com

copying the questions below and pasting your responses into the contact form

visiting The Daily ALIEN and adding a comment to the Edge Element Beta testing entry (you can also use the contact form on The Daily ALIEN if this site’s form isn’t working)

Testing questions
Scenario 1 – access the free gallery
- Locate and view the free gallery
- Preview an image
- Download an image
Scenario 2 – guestbook
- Locate and view the guestbook
- Leave a guestbook entry
Scenario 3 – news and social networking
- View the latest news on the main page of the site
- View older news items on the ‘news’ page
- Locate ‘The Daily ALIEN’ and navigate to it, then return to the site
- Locate social networking links and navigate to them
- Leave a comment on the Daily ALIEN, Twitter or Facebook if you feel like it
Scenario 4 – contact
- Locate the contact form on the site
- Send a message
- Confirm that the message was received (I will send you a response, so this might take a day or so)
Scenario 5– subscription
- Locate the ‘subscribe’ page
- Fill out the form and submit it (make sure you use a real email address)
- Check your inbox for a confirmation message
- Return to the site and log in
- Edit your user profile settings
- Log out
Scenario 6 – access the subscriber gallery
- Log in
- Locate and view the subscriber gallery
- Download an image
- You can also look at the free gallery and comment or rate images
- Log out
